About Our Fund
HISTORY
The current "Fund" grew out of the original Fund. The Rosetta and Cornelius Jones Scholarship Fund, a nonprofit organization which was established in 2000 and provided full scholarships to severely handicapped girls in central Africa (The Zambia Project), allowing them to attend boarding school from primary through secondary school. The original Fund provided full tuition and board, school uniforms, books, etc. to cover one hundred pupils.
Through the years, the original Fund's projects expanded to include the support of children in orphanages (AIDS) through monetary donations, needed supplies (school supplies, books, clothing, foodstuffs), the building of a playground, a library, as well as site visits (The Nazareth House Project, Johannesburg, S.A.; the Hope for Survival Orphanage Gigshiri Village, Abuja, Nigeria; Refilwe Community Project, Cresta, S.A.).
Thus with an expanded mandate, the current Fund was established in 2014. The R & C Jones Memorial Fund still supports orphanages, provides funds to projects to aid and uplift those in poverty, supports medical missions and research, and supports disaster relief efforts. The Fund is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
